hey man, i had that problem too !
try AVS video converter 6.3 (not sure if newer one is out)
best converter i have used, can do batch conversions and make into one file, or split files with different names. also a preivew option frame by frame so you can see quality. many qualities can be done, for youtube i choose 320p, low file size but still OK quality.

Ok thanks. I'll demo it.

I'm using ripbot 264. Its easy to use, reliable and gives great results.

Yeah ripbot you can line videos up for batch conversion. I'm not sure if it does them all at the same time or one at a time. I've only ever needed to convert one vid at a time.

I use handbrake (free) to convert my Full HD recordings to h.264 m4v format.

Use the 'Universal" setting with deinterlace on fast and under Quality, use the Constant quality setting which is on 20 by default for SD quality sources. The tips suggest a setting of 22 for HD quality sources.
