I am looking for some advice on buying an HD video camera for our church. I'm trying to find the best camera that I can get with the least money, so any advice I can get would be welcome.
Thanks,
David Mc.

The Flip Mino HD is quite handy. Don't expect great performance under low light conditions though.

Kodak ZI8 is pretty good too. Should give good digital video quality for about $200-300 depending on how you shop. Look on pricespy.co.nz.

Has provision for a stand which would be good as you can just film without having to hold it. You will need to be reasonably close as the digital zoom on it is not so good.
It does have provision for an external Mic, which could help with sound, but it has a pretty good mic on it apparently. Takes full HD video but probably best just sat on a camera stand and static film.

If you want to move around a lot and dont need HD something like the panasonic SDR-S50 could be good too. Has optical image stabilisation and a huge zoom.
