No - and what does this thread really achieve? 😀
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
Another social media tool that is likely to only benefit those in the misinformation game.
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/07/10/tech/twitter-threads-future/index.html I wonder if Elon is getting worried yet (most likely not).
Nope. I am in the process of closing down my social media accounts/social engineering accounts

Nope! Best thing I ever did was kill my social media accounts. The media sure gave threads a good kick off.
Nope.
I see it as Meta (Facebook) metastasising into another area social media.
Edit: Maybe that’s where they got the company name from (/s).

Nope, I don't like Faboo or Insta, I've weaned myself of the Twitters and now I'm cosy over on Mastodon where no one is trying to monetise me. @BlueShiftNZ@Mastodon.nz
Nah, had a creepy enough time with ignoring odd people wanting to link up on Linkedin, and other stuff it did.
Musk to keep his social media profile up may have to join Threads !
He seems to have an Instagram account, so Zukerberg has made it easier for him.
He can see how his jet is tracking with his favorite Pizza, apparently its quicker for across town delivery.

Tesla, SpaceX are in Instagram too, so easy for them to expand to better connect with customers :-)
I might stock up on popcorn, to watch from sideline.
If eventually a club or something I'm involved in become very active on there,
and there are good controls to filter creepy fishing requests and such maybe.
I suppose Government will be obliged to pay up to send alerts this way if it gains traction.
There’s already a Musk bashing thread on GZ.
Use that.

I closed down my Twitter, Linked In and Instagram accounts a few years back. Also left a bunch of Facebook groups I was part of. Felt much better for doing it! I still retain FB as I communicate with a number of overseas relatives/friends with it. I had a look at Mastodon a few months book and just as quickly closed that account down. I've no desire whatsoever to create a new Instagram account to simply access Threads, so while I have a little curiosity about it, I won't be going there. Due to the way a large amount of people conduct themselves online, I tend to refer to all of these platforms as anti-social media.
netspanner:
I have just deactivated my account on Twitter. I started it at the beginning of the year and it was just so addictive, such a dopamine hit.
NZ politics, life and craziness, Ukraine war - with military people talking about tactics, analysis of the situation on a day to day basis, Russian propaganda videos and how insane they are, Trump prosecution twitted by the prosecuting lawyer Jack Smith etal and what he is going to do, and Trumps insane responses.
The development of AI, DotNet with the guy who wrote ASP.net Core, programming in general.
So much information and so addicting, before hand I never had much do to with those events, but on Twitter, you lived them real time. We have no idea whats really happening overseas it was a like a massive pipeline of information.
I had to get rid of it to get my mind back into the boring world. After 4 days off I am still itching to get back and see whats been happening.
So no Threads for me.
Congrats mate. Well done for recognising your boundaries.
I get all my 'quick glance' NZ and global information from Twitter, and according to my iPhone I average 6 minutes per day.
I don't need another app, especially a Twitter clone, so I am happy staying put.
I don't get spam in my feeds that I notice, I have subscribed, and any information on there I know is only 1 persons opinion.
People say Twitter is falling down the cliff. I personally don't see it and I am not aware of anything negative that has occurred on the platform. All I can see is some person has come in to a company and removed staff that have never appeared to add value to me.

Cross-posted from the Elon Musk thread - Twitter's not doing too flash under him: https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-killed-twitter-irrelevant-meta-threads-debt-mark-zuckerberg-2023-7
I read (most of) that article. A few things:
Yes Elon is an interesting character, and there are some questionable accusations surrounding him.
Question to everyone: Ignoring what you may have read. Has your Twitter experience been impacted in a measurable negative way?
Have a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl6oWXUCrLg it is a quick interesting video that when paired with how Tesla is doing now in 2023 and how legacy OEMs are now praising Tesla for their innovativeness and leading the EV industry, you can't really take her serious, especially when she writes an article that has her feelings and emotions come through.
