Google Plus and also Google Profile is not yet available for Google Apps customers.
Google hopes to bring this feature to Google Apps within the next few months.

Once you're "in", do you get invites to send too? Like the old Gmail days?

Yea the option is gone for me too. But I managed to invite everyone that PM'd me.
