Right...if this continues, YOU PEPOLE had better start coming up with interesting things for me to amuse myself with, or there'll be hell to pay!

You can't possibly expect me to work a whole day, surely...

... and then there's the serious stuff...like... how am I supposed to know which lost cats to keep an eye out for and if there were any rowdy local youth loudly revving their car last night.

Greenhithe will melt down.

even geekzone has pictures of pet cats (& dogs)   :-)

For most, FB is simply the new version of forums .
Many hobby groups are now on FB , the hobby forums slowly dying out .
FB isnt allways the toxic mess some claim . Moderated groups can keep that under control .

some actually spend hundreds of $ advertising on the platform. 🤬

Because they want t reach volume, not necessarily quality.

As funny it may look to some, it's not reason to call someone with funny names. It's a breach of FUG and post was removed.

Interesting reading the rumours that the office is down because all the access systems are tied with the outage. People unable to enter the building, people in the building unable to use meeting rooms etc.

freitasm: I have removed the app from my phone and the only reason I use FB now is to manage the company page. I avoid that platform. Also Twitter - only use it once a day to check for new private messages.

That's good work. I deleted my Twitter and Instagram accounts a long time ago and have no intention of re-enabling them. I keep FB due to connections I have on there and my band uses WhatsApp for general comms, although I'm considering a switch to Telegram.

According to the radio news, the outage is "affecting user accounts across the world, including this one".

I know it sometimes seems we're on a different planet, but that's just the politicians.

Productivity might actually go up today :)

Na!

Facebook running = drop in productivity due to people checking their Facebook all day

Facebook down = drop in productivity due to people trying to find out why Facebook is down and checking every 5mins to see if its up and running again yet

When I woke up my Android phone (Huawei) kept reporting wi-fi connected but no internet. Googled, 'what's my IP'...that's definitely my home IP so not  on 4G. Why does my phone think there's no internet...Does it measure internetness in Facebook availability?

Some routes are being restored. Can now resolve FB in multiple places but it's still very broken.
