Is a long shot, but there was someone on twitter saying that they could send out invites via IE9 but the button wasnt there on any other browser..
Also just seen this  "Google+ invites are not turned off, you just have to know the loophole. Share a post w/ the email address of the person you want to invite."
ahh well failing that guess ill have to wait! dosnt help that i have no patience what so ever :)

bollocks! ah well, it is just like when Gmail launched, they made it invite only to drive up the demand for it!
When/if i see the invite show up i will be sure to send you one!

AndroidPolice had a form on their site for people to fill out for an invite, then had a script to invite them all. Apprarently they invited well over 1000 people, and were "further outside the 'desired operating bounds' than anyone else today"

I manage to test it on my other account. actually it did work for my other account. got the email.

yup the sharing thing does work, I just tested it with another gmail account. If anyone wants me to try it with them then message me your gmail address.
