facebook for me is heading the same way.

That's what i was finding as well. Just a couple of days before all of this happened I had installed the minimalist for facebook extension to try and clean it up. I was actually pretty pleased with how it was looking until this came along.

I really like Google+, the androd app, new gmail look, the new calendar look. Google are going all out.

I was curious however as to how Google would get people to jump from facebook. Then I saw this insightful article that implies they'll lure people almost subconciously - genius!

Being able to share with your circles or all via my Android device is a real pleasure and so simple!

OK I'm in and really liking it... sort of like being let into a shopping mall before it opens, very empty, but is all nice and shiny!

Now just need to work out how to invite people in!

If it doesnt take the world by storm, at least i hope it will encourage facebook to pick up their game with their android app

How to invite people:
Add people with their email
Add them to a circle first.
Go back to your stream.
Put a @ in front of the name of the person...
Type some random message
Hit share.
Like a PM really.

You can also just click share on the top right and share something to their email address and they'll be able to get in that way.

Facebook have had an interesting response to Google+... adding email to Facebook. Needless to say I declined their offer to have an @facebook.com address.

I "claimed" my @facebook.com address but I don't see myself ever using it. Will be interesting to see how their video chat thing is going to work.
