I only want friends of friends to be able to type in my name in the search box and see my wall, photos etc, not joe blogs from timaru.

How do i make it so that someone with no mutual friends can only see my profile picture, an add friend button and a message button. Anyone know ?

On the top right click the arrow next to "Home" and select Privacy Settings. From there you just need to read each explanation to select the setting you need.

That was what I was looking through but I can't seem to find how to do it as I described. I know some people have it because I have clicked on profiles where that is all I can see.

I do not have timeline are the privacy settings different for the old style profile and timeline ?

Howd you go in 'exploring' your facebook settings?

Did you find out how to 'lock' down your profile to everyone except friends?

I think if someone doesn't what other people to view you on facebook, then facebook isn't for that person. You really don't know what changes in policy they will implement in the future, that may disclose more personal information. The thing about facebook is that you can be found. Although I must admit their search system for finding people and organisations sucks.

Good Call.
I find it tedious always having to check my settings each time FB decides to 'change their look'.
