I really wanted G+ to work. Finally there is a good iPad app, but there's just too few people using it. I would be pretty happy to move away from Facebook, but literally none of my friends and family use G+! So I follow a few science types, and barely use it.

Agreed I like to follow people and subjects of interest, and dont see it as an alternative to FB. If I want to interact with people I can but there is no need to 'like' pictures of what they cooked for dinner or the latest cute picture of their (insert cat, dog, child). I think to get the benefit of it takes a little more perseverance than FB but then I just never 'got' FB.
