For some small businesses, Finda, localist et al are a good way to have a basic Internet presence for no or very little money.  I don't see them going away.

I'd worry about being listed on Google Places for Business instead of these.

Agreed.  But being on more directories does help.  I don't think anyone searches the directories directly, they're more likely to start from Google anyway.
