How can I stop 'suggested pages' appearing in my FB feed?
I get a lot of them and pages that my friends also like come up in my feed suggesting that I 'like' them too
and if one of my friends comments on one of their friends page, then that also appears in my FB feed
I'm sick of it!
All I want to see is what my friends have posted, I don't want to be 'spammed' with pages FB thinks I should 'like' or with what my friends have posted on other peoples FB page

Is there any way to stop this?? I've had a look in my settings and can't really see anything that can help
hopefully a FB geek can help me?

Unfortunately there is no way to turn them off from within FB there are Browser extensions out there that will block them but I don't know how effective they are

Facebook is a free-to-air service. Thrusting aggressive marketing at you is how they get their revenue.

... which is one of several reasons why I will never use Facebook.

And I'm guessing that one of the other reasons is that their software is riddled with bugs and every app update makes it worse?

Personally I hate it and would rather pay for a service that works properly and doesn't invade my privacy but alas it's a natural monopoly, similar to TradeMe.

I used to use Facebook.

I deleted my account a few years back. The inserting advertising into my feed really annoyed me, but the final straw was when they decided they knew what I wanted to read, and stopped showing me half the things my friends were posting.

It was tough to give it up to begin with. But life is a LOT better without it now.

There's always one on every Facebook Thread.

I'll second FB Purity - It makes Facebook much more usable.
