Bizarre! I've tried on BigPipe (Auckland, Fibre) and 2degrees (4G), in Safari (Mac, iOS), Chrome (Mac) and Edge (Windows). Same error as above.

Might try Google's DNS and see if that helps.

Down for me too on spark. Not that I use it. Just says 

Sorry, something went wrong.

Yep looks as if it's down for most of Asia & Oceania. Naughty!

Using Opera VPN is a quick work around.

Tried it from my work PC without error. Dont tell anyone but i have been actively using messenger for the last 45 minutes without interruption.
