I have just started up a new business and right now my budget will only allow me to have a Facebook account for it.
I am considering using Facebook ads to target my audience and a specific location.
Has anyone used Facebook ads for business and if so how successful are they ?
Thanks

I have used it before with some free credit, and it had no business from it. But I think it all depends on the type of business and the market you are targeting.

What kind of business do you run? You might be better off using Google Ads to get more customers.

Mind you, you can waste your money just as effectively on Google as you can on Facebook if you do it wrong.

I've used Facebook advertising to build page likes, which in turn builds an audience to advertise to via your Page posts etc.

It seems to have worked really well.

I don’t think Facebook is a particulary good advertising platform yet as it’s too easy to get lost in everything else that’s going on. However with that being said, it really depends on what you’re selling and who you’re selling to

I tried it several years ago when I was a partner in a weight-loss business. Initially FB ran our ads but then decided to not allow them. Our business was legit, we ran weight-loss classes that people attended weekly and it was all about healthy eating and portion sizes (much like Weight Watchers), but I think we somehow got lumped into the weight-loss group that was pushing magic pills and shakes and it didn't matter what we said to FB  or how our ads were worded (certainly no crazy promises like you often see) they wouldn't run our ads. If I remember correctly we couldn't actually get to talk to a human, all their responses seemed automated. But you can certainly target very specific groups which was handy.
