I think Artificial Intelligence remains artificial and not very intelligent.  Air New Zealand run a chatbot called Oscar and you can talk to it.  I said "The latest safety video is silly".  Oscar doesn't agree, because it said "The safety video is my favourite part of the flight! Here's our latest one. Enjoy."  Good on'ya Oscar.

Seems like it worked pretty well to me?
Whats the point of this post? Are you saying it was not satisfactory or was?

Cheers

Eliza was always fun, especially to fire up in a BBS chat.....

Irks me that the term AI is being thrown around willy nilly when it's just machine learning at this point.

In my line of work we now refer to AI as being Augmented Intelligence which is a better reflection of using machine learning to augment human intelligence.

To the marketing and business 'intelligences' of the current era it may be that AI in its current state is enough to qualify compared to their own. There is finally something that exceeds their smarts :)

The one that irks me, is chatbot products that are sold as AI, when it's clearly not.

These sorts of things give chatbots Quite poor rapport.

They can do amazing things, but generally these are both absurdly expensive, and single solution built.

Note: I'm not commenting on Sparks bots, but all the bots in use around the nz and wider global market.

I can't speak for spark bots, I've never had my hand in them close enough to know their inner workings.

Every time I ask a chatbot a question it says it will have to hand me on to a human.

My questions are not about the meaning of life. More like what happens if I cancel early?
