When my youngest was little and started using tablets and phones, I setup a Google account for her, and attached it as part of Google Family Link with my account as the (obviously) parent. Now shes a lot older I want to remove her from it. But it appears to be impossible to do without deleting her whole Google account.

Even Googles own documentation has no official process for it, everything I find just says to delete their account - which is crazy as she has stuff on there she uses daily.

If I try disbanding the Family in the app it threatens to delete the attached accounts as well.

Has anyone removed someone from Family Link before ?

We created an account for our daughter and when she turned 16 (or 13, I can't remember) it was changed to adult account automatically.

Check the birth date in the account.

I did exactly this about a week ago without deleting my child's account account. Google made it super hard to find but you can do it from your phone.

I still had the search in my search history but when searching again the Google AI answer says you can only transfer or delete.... Hallucination?
