Might be worthwhile contacting Samsung. When our dishwasher (about 6 years old) caught fire the manufacturer wanted it back for forensics and provided us with a brand new dishwasher.
I did contact Samsung, but the reaction was "probably parallel import so not our issue", and casting doubt that "it may be a knock off Samsung clone" (one look at the photos shows that is not a clone) and not to bother them by returning it. However I had returned it before reading that message. I still think that wherever the item was sourced, the manufacturer can not easily opt out of the damage a faulty product has caused
