Hi

Sometimes when I play a video on FB for EG this video

https://www.facebook.com/LeRatatouille/videos/vb.133805866764509/423362094475550/?type=2&theater

The video will not play the work around that i use is to go to Chrome settings---extensions, and to pick ANY extension and disable it.
It then plays.
I can even disable and enable the extension and that does the trick.

Google Chrome version 45.0.2454.101 m
Windows 10

No problems when I use MS Edge.

Any ideas appreciated

Plays for me, same specs as you, reset Google Chrome settings and/or make a new user in Google Chrome and see if that resolves the issue.

You can also trying uninstalling Adobe Flash Player if you have that installed.

Okay that is great that it works for you, however not working for me and I am trying to dig to find out why.
I have tried using Chrome not signed in, have even downloaded the latest version of Adobe Flash player, however reading the notes Flash player is automatically installed in chrome.

Thanks

You could also just trying reinstalling Google Chrome from scratch, use this one, helps resolves issues: http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?system=true&standalone=1

Yeah you don't need to have Adobe Flash installed for Google Chrome, it causes more issues having it installed.

I will give it a go, however isn't this like the old days of Windows were the solution was to re-install.

I have a feeling it might be an extension issue the extension I am using are

AD block plus (enabled)

Avast online security (enabled)

Avast safe price (enabled)

Google Calendar (by Google) (enabled)

Google Docs online

Unlimited Free VPN Hola

The only one enabled are those shown enabled.

Yeah I have Adblock plus aswell so it isn't that, it's most likely the Avast extensions. You could try removing them, restarting Google Chrome and see if that resolves the issue, you should be able to easily reinstall them.

It's probably the caching bug thou shalt not talk about. Been around for facey for aaaagggeess but noone can pinpoint the exact plugins or addons that do it

I too get videos that either spit connection issue, or just play about 4sec before stopping.

Shift-ESC (or menu, more tools, task manager) and check out how much memory the FB window is chewing up. If you keep refreshing or scrolling page after page of updates it can chew 2-3Gb of ram up real quick and then scripts start failing

I'm currently using 1.03G for that tab alone.
