I thought this launch was suppsoed to be today, at 3pm, some sources have me believe.

I can't find anything to say so or otherwise except from third parties. Any news? Updates? The site has nothing on it that says what's going on and everything has a pop-up to say functionality will be available at launch? I thought this was a marketing company, why is there no obvious message?

Well it has XSS issues. Allows for email enumeration through the password reset. If you type in an email that isn't signed up into the password reset it still sends an email to that person. If you add an auction then remove it you can still go the URL and see the auction so remove auction only removes it from your list not everywhere in the DB. In a JS console type <removed> and it will disable the not yet popups. Talking to others they have 6/10 in the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.

If you don't understand IT (especially bespoke web sites) and then you go with the lowest bidder you kind of get what you get.

Other auction websites though haven't had these problems. Zillion for one didn't have technical problems, at least not when I used it. Although launching a website can be a problem. I think a soft launch is far better, but you don't then get the free media publicity. If you want that free media publicity them you have to make sure that the launch goes without any problems when it gets a huge influx of people hitting the website. Their website said it would launch at 3pm today, and it still isn't working, although it now has the message below

To ensure an efficient transition to full operation we have put back our launch time to ensure the servers are switched over smoothly. Our apologies for the delay! In the meantime, registration and listing are still open below.

loceff13: The name is too long to remember in order and they have not bothered to register the other domains for when people get it wrong ie listtradesell.co.nz. Would be a nice little domain to troll with for someone who wants to put up satire/a spoof (think tardme.co.nz)

Notice it's already been taken by someone trying to drive traffic elsewhere.. Something $30 could have resolved rather than buying it back/going the DNC route in future

Would be more funny going the parody route with a giant lemon being auctioned on a clone of the site imo

I think they are worried their site has some holes and are triple checking after what happened to Wheedle.
The place that "designed and made" it uses a pretty generic design in the code from what I saw (compared to other sites the same company made and designed).
It might be an OTTB template thats then customised.
Although not the obvious faults Wheedle had, XSS is an issue from my own limited testing.

Simple stuff to test.
Should we send them a list of the problems so far? (before launch) :D

Since this is a resource we so badly need, I would think very highly of you if you made a small voluntary contribution and helped these guys pep up their code. They may appreciate it too and who knows, something may come around when it's your turn to deliver under pressure?

As you may be aware, List Sell Trade brought its launch forward this week. We’ve since received a great response and thousands of products have been sent in by new users through .csv files for bulk upload. In order to ensure these products are available at the full launch, we will be loading these products onto the website throughout today and the weekend.

This means that our full launch will now take place on Monday 8^th October 2012.

Currently registered users with auction listings may wish to edit the closing times of their existing listings in order to reflect the new date.

We appreciate your patience and look forward to commencing trading on Monday.

If you’re an online retailer and have your product database in the form of a .csv file, email it to us via [email removed] and we can load all the product information in the file onto the website for you at no charge.

Based on some existing test auctions I found, Bid history is broken. (Incorrectly shows the value of the last bid on all the bids)

well at least by getting the big sellers onboard to start with by CSV (even if it is a manual process for now) they will hopefully have more than 12 books for sale on the first day ;)

PriceMe and Pricespy already have a preferred format for CSV files, LST would be good to use this as it would significantly increase their options for trades from professionals, also, because reselling computer spares and wares and hoping for a margin that exceeds Fairfaxes success fees is optomistic at best.

If you work for LST and don't know what the CSV format is, please feel free to PM me, I'll send you a link to a working one, that works for both.
