Hi

I have an idea for an app for a tablet. The idea does not exist on any platforms' App Store and I have been looking for a long while. While this idea would be a little niche, there would be a global market for it and word of mouth would see it catch on quickly within that market I believe. I don't live in a delusion that its an app that will see anyone become rich but I think there is an opportunity to make something out of it.

I have zero idea as to how to create/develop apps but I have the idea and the practical concept of how it should work. I have no cash to offer other than a share of any money made from sales. Does anyone have an idea or can point me in the right direction as to how do I go about finding someone that would be interested in bringing this idea to life?

Any advice welcome.

Hi there,

As a developer I see this pitches like this constantly. I have an idea, all I need is someone to make it, I can't pay you anything, but you can have a share. You're amongst good company for entrepreneurial ideas.

I wont go in to too much detail about why you'll likely have difficulty getting traction on this (unless you want me to) I'm just saying that you'll need to be very realistic about what your share of the product would be. Dont think 80/20 or even 50/50. Derek Sivers has a pretty quick explanation if you're interested.

Execution requires more than just writing code, too -- you need to persuade people to pay for your product. You need to do enough research to make sure those people are even out there.

I have a bunch of ideas for products but no time at present to write the code OR work out if there's even a market. Ideas are easy. Turning them into a viable product, and turning a profit on that, are hard.

What the idea, or at least why would someone download your app (out of what's already available)? How will you persuade others to do so? It's hard to just agree to something without hearing more details
