In the process of changing over to a nespresso type machine for coffee consumption instead of my manual espresso maker. What struck me is the fulfillment side of the industry could use a organised discount type, club, thingy, sort of site. Due to the repetitive purchase nature of the product. A nice database with all the different types of 'pods' machine review, etc etc

Do you have an actual Nespresso or a third party capsule unit?

Just that buying actual nespresso pods can be difficult if you do not have a nespresso machine (online) - it asks for your machine serial number.

I have not bought a machine yet I have been wading through the information that is out there trying to make an informed decision. There seems to be an array of pods some fit some machines others don't . There seems to be various refillable pods. Then of course there is all the different coffees .Awfully confusing ! . I don't know if a site with a database would be of any benefit. At present just shooting the breeze with the idea....
Usually I start with my problem:

I want to get a easier to use coffee machine that produces a good cup of coffee

What is my budget?

Where are the machines available?

Can I save and buy one second hand?

Which is the industry leader?

How much are consumables?

just to start with

I look for a site to find out this information

I work at Mighty Ape (get that out of the way)

I brought one of these machines (the Black one, would have loved Red, but kitchen decor didn't allow)
http://www.mightyape.co.nz/Brands/Espressotoria/All/

Works really well, produces a good cup of coffee, no messy clean-up and the milk frother is worth is just by itself (great for fluffies for kids)

Bit more info here
http://www.espressotoria.com/store/espressotoria-system

I've not used the Nespresso system so can't compare...but for the money, I'm happy with this:-)

Cheers
Matt

We have one of the ones Countdown were/are selling. Got it just after Christmas.

I don't drink coffee, but my wife loves it. She has done away with the plunger and uses this exclusively now. She like the Nespresso Purple pods, but the countdown ones (dark brown box colour) are fine too she says (and nearly half the price).

So Matt and Trig would you order your consumables online? would a information/review site have been useful to you or a waste of time ?

I order all my consumables online, and yes...I think a review site for machines (there is a massive range in the Nespresso stable, with varying prices) would be very useful...also for flavours (not sure if they do this, but a multi pack of different flavours...say, five of each would be great to test what you like without buying a large pack)

I think they are great value - that's what we paid (I think). It has not given us any grief.

I bought the similar unit but with the built in frother from dse and it works a treat. Using nespresso capsules the taste is indifferent to a certified nespresso machine

Unfortunately if you like long drinks nespresso doesn't offer a huge range of lungo variants
