You've probably seen by now the news post here on GZ but I figured I'd make a thread for people to ask questions and give you a bit more tech background!

I was inspired by business cards advertising Gigatown here in Dunedin and wanted to track how often people actually look at them.

I built the software behind the site from scratch in PHP. Probably took a couple hundred hours! I'm getting a bit of media coverage today so it'll be interesting to see how it holds up!

It is a pretty cool idea. I've seen the site during the beta (before the countdown was up in the homepage) and liked the idea.

Like Where is George (tracking US dollar bills) or  message in a bottle but with more social. Good luck with This Little Card...

I found one Thursday last week and wondered what it was. I assumed it was a scam of some kind, and I certainly wasn't going to give away any info to an unknown source.

It was found in mail sorting machinery, and looks to have gone the way of every other business card, chip packet, and icecream stick that gets found.

Sorry, if the website had been there as it is now it might have survived.

Edit: Found it and a bunch more, PM sent.

Glad to see the website up and running, I know you sure put a lot of work into it.

I've only got one card left to distribute. So far only one has been logged in the website, although four may still be in transit (I sent them on a little vacation to a friend in California ;-)).

I can't say I'm overly surprised by this. People are becoming more cynical these days, and many would probably ignore the card's call to action, thinking there must be a catch somewhere.
