For awhile now I have been buying 20Kg sacks of Whey Protein Concentrate. For my own consumption due to my gym training. However the price I have to pay has been steadily increasing over the years. And is now around the $550 mark for a 20Kg sack.
I have enquired with Fonterra about purchasing directly from them. But they said that I would need to buy 100kg (5 sacks) per month. So a serious amount. So Im considering if I should start a company that would simply buy the protein. Resell most of it. Just so I can "feed my habit" for cheaper. I already have my own company registered. So would just put the GST ect through it.
The protein composition per 100g is approx 80g protein, 7g fats, 6g carbs. Flavour is Natural unflavoured (tastes like diluted milk if you mix it with water, and tastes like creamy milk if you mix it with milk). I do have the full product info for it but would just need to obtain more up to date copies. As for pricing - around the $340 mark for 20Kg which is just $17 per Kg. (try comparing that to any branded protein) I still need to find out how much delivery is. And work out what would be a fair margin for me. I would simply supply it in the 20Kg sacks. To avoid having to setup a premises that is approved for handling food. (which I would need to do if I was splitting the sacks and repackaging it in smaller amounts) And to keep costs down.
So is anyone interested?
