Kia ora everyone,

Over the past year and a half, I’ve been building Skedular — a New Zealand–based platform that helps people list, manage, and rent out spaces of any kind, from co-working hubs and meeting rooms to event venues and creative studios.

We’ve now opened the platform for public listings, so if you own or manage a space, you can list it on Skedular and make it bookable in just a few minutes. It’s completely free to list while we continue to grow our marketplace.

The goal is to make it easier for businesses and individuals to:

  • Showcase their spaces online with a single public profile
  • Receive and manage enquiries in one place
  • Offer online booking through a modern, self-service engine

We’ve started onboarding locations across New Zealand and Australia, and we’d love to see more local spaces join the platform.

You can explore the marketplace or create a listing here:
More about the project: https://getskedular.com

Feedback from the local tech and business community is always welcome — whether it’s about the product, the user experience, or ways to make it more useful for Kiwi and Aussie venue owners.

Ngā mihi,
Morteza Alizadeh
Founder, Skedular

My only comment so far is that on getskedular.com, you have this sentence:

Intergrates seemlessly with Slack and MS Teams

Which should obvi be:

Integrates seamlessly with Slack and MS Teams

Edit: Found these typos too:

Easily reserve desk space for yourself and your collegues.

And then sitewide, organization should be organisation otherwise it doesn't feel local to AU/NZ.

Pricing too, e.g. "3$" instead of "$3".

If I select resource, I don't get any results except for "All" - this a bug or just lazy entries not specifying type ?

Also, whats to stop people spamming the system - do you have verification controls for entries ? (I'm not signing up as I dont have a need personally)

Funny you should ask: the only location shown in my town is a self-storage place, which is technically renting a space, but not what comes to mind considering the opening paragraph of this thread.

We recently introduced the marketplace concept to make it easier for people to list their public locations. Initially, we built the platform for organizations that needed a solution to manage their workspaces. We are now gradually adding more locations and reaching out to owners so they can claim and manage their listings.

The reason you do not see a location after selecting a resource type is that the owner needs to set up their marketplace profile and create products that allow the public to book and pay for their resources. We are still in the early stages, especially with co-working spaces and other types of locations such as storage facilities.

At this stage, we are actively looking for feedback and for people who are willing to use the platform for free in exchange for sharing their experiences and helping us improve. If you or anyone you know is open to testing it and providing input, we’d really appreciate it.

Also, could you please clarify what you meant by “spamming the system” and “verification controls”? I want to make sure I fully understand your concern so I can explain how we’re handling that part.

Bots/scripts/idiots signing up, making false entries.

How do you verify the location actually exists and is legitimate ?

Sorry for the delay. Your feedback made us rethink how we handle organization types in our system.

Previously, we supported “Private” and “Marketplace” organizations, and customers were able to change the organization type after creation. We’ve now decided to lock the organization type once it is created. Only Marketplace organizations will be allowed to create Marketplace locations.

We are currently implementing these enforcement rules. In addition, Marketplace organizations will go through a manual review step for now. Anyone wanting to list their location publicly will need to provide some form of identity or business verification. In the future, this process will be integrated with a proper KYC provider so manual checks won’t be needed.

We will also require Marketplace organizations to add a credit card if they want their locations to be publicly listed. They can still create locations, but publishing them won’t be possible until a payment method is added. We believe this will significantly reduce spam.

We’ve also introduced a new “Individual” organization type for people who want to list their space in more of an Airbnb-style model without owning a co-working space. Individual organizations will also be required to verify their identity before their locations can be listed publicly.
