This thread is for discussion of the game Outbreak! Zombie Apocalypse. It is a real world location based game – your actual location is used to play the game, and interact with other players.

It's zombies vs humans. If you are a zombie, you have to find nearby humans and infect them by clicking their icon on the screen. Your attack range starts at about 500m, so you need to travel around in the real world to be able to attack humans.

If you are a human, you have to avoid getting infected by the zombies. You can stun zombies that are within range by clicking on their icon on the map. This prevents them from attacking for a while, giving you time to escape. If you get infected, you become a zombie.

It's still in beta, and is a work in progress. The developer is still adding features, tweaking things, etc.

It's on the Android market.

I have been playing for a while, I live near and work in Wellington CBD and no-one has attacked me. Then I scanned in today to find i've been infected! I didn't get an alert or anything, I thought there was a way to fight them off and level up?

How do you do this if you don't get alerted? Or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Anyway, off up the country over the weekend so will be sure to keep an eye out for innocent survivors to spread my infection on to - towns on SH2 look out!

Always thought it would be more fun to be infected and attack others than try to survive.
