Hi Everyone,

My friend and I have just launched our website After a few teething issues we think we have got it sorted.

Interested in feedback on:

  • -the idea (connecting people who travel with people who need stuff moved)
  • -the usability of the site
  • -any issue you uncover
  • -legal questions - BUT please refer to terms and conditions and FAQs first

Thanks for you input.

Link goes to which doesn't work, you need to remove the dot on the end.
The "create a listing and win" is cut off at the bottom of the page (works after second refresh...)
Trying to create a load ( gives me an error.

Only problem I see is actually getting people to use the website.

I think it's a great idea.

The website layout could do with a bit of work. It just seems a little cluttered. I'd add a bit more spacing for a professional look.

Colour scheme is also a bit yuck. Dark Brown and dark green...if it was me I would use one, but not both.

Anything to do with terms and conditions, you should get a lawyer to write them up properly.

Search for Something.. (say auckland to wellington).. Nothing found..

If you create a listing we can tailor search results to your exact load
Links to

click on it.. and goes to 404..

Login with Facebook does not work properly...

Text Version of verification email when people don't have HTML based email client?

Edit House Number.. can't do as it says the Home Street is invalid (has ! besides it so can't continue with this part) but I'm editing the House Number!

I can upload invalid image files.. checks extension/size but not that it actually is an image

Creating Trips can be from/to the same place.. maybe check the distance and make invalid if too short

Search Listing is down the bottom which hides it on most screens unless you scroll down.. but its the important part so why not put it up the top???

Departure date.. be more specific i.e. morning. lunch, evening etc?

Maybe only show NZ map when adding trips as you can't add Australia addresses etc anyway..

is the payload symbol really TM ed I can't seem to find it on iponz?

bad HTML injection possible in comments! I just broke my listing :-(

I made $10.. closed account and it says

"We will refund your account balance to any NZ bank account less a $5 processing fee."

but no where to put bank account details in to make $5!

then it says "There was an error" !

There is no place to put bank account etc details in?

If you edit home address.. and put nothing.. you cannot click cancel!

I'll let you fix all those problems before I put more :-(

Not enough content on each page for google to see it properly..
its using the meta description for every page..

check in google -

You have 2 titles in the html head

Do you REALLY have to use that many external javascripts ? all those google api fonts is pretty excessive?

Why not use local versions of jquery etc?

"Payload is created and run by Kiwi's with Kiwi's in mind." arghhh.. whats the ' doing in there?

" (for example a certain popular trading website we've heard of...)." why not just say trademe? Its owned by Australians. so you cannot compare with your website in the manner you are.

I like the site and the idea.

Find trips to carry my stuff worked but showed trips in the past which was confusing.

LennonNZ has lots of good advice and along similar lines to not enough content and better meta data would be a section of browsable trips, loads and drivers rather than just relying on where to where search - does a decent job of visually displaying similar content.

Facebook profile pics when people connect their Facebook accounts would make it more trust-worthy than having Matt Damon carry my stuff - airbnb does this well.

TaskRabbit is another site you could get lots of UI inspiration from :)

I'm not sure about the business model, a 5% rip leaves nothing to invest in engineering or marketing and some kind of example rates between destinations would be ideal. Being a market place/platform is great but it could be better to take more responsibility for collecting payments and guarenteeing delivery.

Right, so these issues will be worked on and changes made as soon as possible.

To address some of your questions/opinions:

We agree it is is a bit cluttered, originally we wanted to go for a very simple home page, but then we kept thinking of things that needed to be added. After our competitions finish it will of course be a bit less cluttered.

Search function - The search function on the home page is essentially a classified listing search. eg when searching for trips it will only find trips that begin at the 'origin' and finish at the 'destination' whereas creating a listing will pick up all the people who are travelling through the 'load' origin and destination at any stage during their trip. The website was designed around people using the create a listing function and letting the site do the searching based on their listing information. However, it has become apparent that people just want to be nosy before they create a listing, and fair enough to, that is what i would do.

See the link to our Facebook page which has a screen shot of the 'manage' function in use!

Anyway, I am happy to say a browse function is on its way soon!

Re $10 on sign up. It states in the terms and conditions that promotional credit will not be refunded. But yes, obviously we need a system for when people do want to close their account with 'real' money in it.

Re colour - i assume you are using Internet explorer? unfortunately we couldn't get it to look the same as it does in chrome etc. If you want to see what it was meant to look like check out the screen shots on our Facebook page

Also, feel free to 'like' us on Facebook to and enter the draw to win an iPad 2. I can tell you, you have a pretty good chance at the moment!

Thanks again for your feedback, it has been really helpful. Hopefully the fixes wont be too far off, then you can find some more!! :)

Just been and looked at your site in IE(usually use chrome) and it needs some serious work doing.

Using IE9 you have the wrong colours (as already pointed out), borders not showing up, overlapped images not appearing correctly. Sign up forms not aligned, rounded divs not showing and other minor differences.

Went into compatibility mode and the site becomes unusable. The sign up page is a HUGE mess and the rest of the site is pretty hard to use and 99% of people wouldn't bother.

Although not supporting IE6 is fine in most cases i would say for a start up business you really need to have as much cross browser support as possible - people are still using it unfortunately. But even in IE7/8 your site is pretty much impossible to use in sections which is not acceptable - these are still very common browsers.

Having your site looking so different from Chrome/Firefox/IE9 is a real turn off - i would be asking myself are these people really professional? Of course you can't get it looking 100% the same but most things you can get to a good standard.

I think you need to go back to the drawing board with some of these things.
