Dishwasher is just over 2 years old making this noise when opening and closing door at a certain point. I thought it was coming from the hinge but it's actually coming from where rubber seal is at the bottom so looks like door rubber seal is rubbing with the dishwasher floor. It's weird and sometimes gets slightly louder. Spoke to Electrolux who are happy to cover under warranty if manufacturing defect. Spoke to Axial who will be coming to inspect and they say if not manufacturing fault I will have to pay for the call out. Is it worth pursuing? I don't want it to get more damaged later because of whatever is rubbing or making the noise. Anyone had similar experience before? If I press the bottom floor part near the center, noise goes away but then comes back.

On our Bosch there's a plastic cover over the adjustable feet at the front, if this gets pushed up by the floor it can catch the bottom of the door. Maybe the front feet need lifting a few turns,

Could the rubber seal have dried a bit and just need a bit of lube e.g. plumbers grease or vaseline at a pinch? If it's not perished then a lube might do the trick.

It's hard to say how they would treat that from a warranty perspective - I guess as long as it's not specified as a care/maintenance practice in the manual then they can't call it a non-warranty callout?

We have a Bosch as well, there is a rubber/silicon seal at the bottom of the door that 'scrapes' over the panel underneath the door.

It is a moisture seal - so is meant to contact, but I think they get a bit of dirt and the strip dries out a bit as it gets older.

Occasionally it starts to make 'creaky/scraping' sounds. Usually just get a chux cloth with a little bit of spray cleaner and give the seal at the bottom of the door and the top of the panel where it contacts a good clean - much better.

I had a spray can of silicon lube, so put that on a cloth and wiped it along the strip after I cleaned it - silence. Usually lasts 6-12 months.

If its like the Bosch then its just maintenance that you can easily do in 5 minutes once in a while.
