There are a few comments on this but had to scroll back to posts in Nov '20ish. Anyone got any recent experience with this one/brand to share?
@siyuan?
@meesham?
Many thanks in advance.

Ryobi has a new 18v brushless out

Still going round in circles - fix the one we've got, get a new petrol one, get an electric one.
Saw comments about clogging the outlet with the Ryobi 5Ah but also the Ryobi with the Yamaha engine I fancied as well. Have moved on to Lawnmaster petrol for now, till I circle back to, erm, who knows what.
But I know i don't like mowing so I'll probably be doing that once a fortnight, which points to petrol again. I give up.
I think I'm going around this loop at the moment. Did you get anywhere @rb99??
I should have got the Ozito one I was looking at pre-xmas (scroll to my earlier post), but didn't and they've sold out. Now every electric mower I look at has all sorts of plusses and minuses and nothing that looks ideal.
Ended up getting carried away and got one of these -

Hope it lasts. Cost enough. Probably not a lot of logic too it.

My old petrol mower has seen better days, and is also becoming a struggle to push for too long so have been looking at corded and cordless mowers that might be good, but am ending up reading good and bad things about anything I see..
Just wondering if anyone here has any recommendations for something in the sub $300 range please?

Not exactly sure what you need but here goes :)
The lawn isn't exactly that big (here is a pic of it) there are also 2 tiny patches along the side of the house.
And the reason for sub $300 price is that I am retired and money isn't exactly the easiest to come by...

I recommend a corded electric mower. They are cheap. You plug them in and then start mowing away from the power point, preferably with an extension long enough to cover the area. With each row or sweep you swap the cord to the side nearest the power point so you don't run it over.
I mowed half an acre easily in Opotiki for over a year with this simple method, taught to me by my great-uncle in Thunder Bay, Canada in the 1960s.
Horses for courses I guess but I would run as far as I could from a corded device for a lot of properties. They worked well at our previous place but where we are now with fences tree etc a corded device is an absolute PITA. Never again for me, from now on it will be petrol or battery.

I got my 47" ECO mower 4.5 years ago....for $799 and then bought two more batteries and two fast chargers ($150 each for chargers) for $399 each for a total of 3. I can mow continuously. But it all cost me about $1800. Battery mowers can be had cheaper now.

johno1234: In my limited experience the lower cost battery mowers are no way near as capable as the big brushless ego models. They bog down if the grass is longer than a few inches and the batteries don’t last long enough for all but small lawns.
given the person asking has what looks like about >75-100sm of lawn it shouldnt be much of an issue for them
Thank you for the replies, much appreciated..
I did find this today - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/home-living/outdoor-garden-conservatory/lawnmowers/electric/listing/3564666037?bof=O3OUJYeB
It is a bit over what I had planned, but it includes a 4.0 Ah Battery + Charger, and from what I been able to find out it seems pretty good..
I'm a little suss about where it's coming from, so the suspicious part of me has E-Mailed the actual manufacturer (Einhell) to find out if it legit or not.
I will see what sort of reply I get back from them.

I have 90sqm of lawn and grabbed the 33cm Ryobi 18v mower. If I stay on top of the lawn, I can mow it twice with a 4ah battery. Avoid random brands, stick with a brand that has a decent range of tools and won't just be discontinued without notice. Leaving you stuck having to repack a battery pack. Combo is $379 at Bunnings. I got mine as a black friday combo and sold what I didn't need, ended up costing around half that. I have few other tools in the Ryobi line, which is why the mower made sense for me. Think line trimmer, hedge trimmers, drills, everything really. 6 year warranty I think when you register it online. I picked the 33cm mower as it was cheapest and I wanted to see if they were actually a decent replacement for my hard to start, heavy, smokey petrol mower. I'll never go back.

Checked it out, seems good, then I spotted the one for $369 which seems to have a 36cm blade, decided even tho it was more than I wanted to pay to get it.. - Opppps no stock for instore or click and collect.. Delivery still had a green tick so decided to go that way, added to cart and wouldn't you know it "this item is not available" popped up. - Sheesh bunnings can be a pain in the butt sometimes. - Might see if I can email Ryobi and ask them if they can send more of the $369 ones to bunnings :P
