There's one at the end of my street. It's yours for $20. Buyer must pickup only. tongue-out

fair call.

Next question, how will you make it weather proof (more to control condensation) and insect proof.

Hopefully the cabinet that we end up getting will already be weather and insect proof, much like the existing roadside cabinets that line every street in NZ.

Initially we will rely on passive cooling to keep the equipment cool, however, active cooling via temperature controlled exhaust fans may be an option if required. Hence the monitoring side of the installation.

If you want to put active gear in this cabinet then you don't want 'cross-connect' type cabinet as they are not weather or insect proof.

The bigger 'Whisper cabinets', built by Eaton, are both weather and insect proof as they have been designed to have active gear in them.

If it was me I would just go and speak to an Engineer and get a cabinet built to spec. Could just be done in Mild steel and then powder coated. Will cost a lot less than you would think.

That's an option I hadn't considered. I may just have to give that some thought.

Cheers

2 places we have used extensively
Gilbert Sheetmetals in Avondale and Cable-ways also in Avondale/New Lynn

Gilberts ate a bit cheaper but both are very good to deal with
