cisconz: Ahh yes, I remember seeing a pit labelled all up with it years ago.

We had a remote control for our Saturn TV service where you could see they had removed some sort of marking from the remote and applied a Saturn logo.

The "first" button on the remote was a bit of a give away as to where Saturn had got some of their gear from.

Its a First Media box, the from the street is coax, and there is another cable going from it to the lounge as what looks like a BNC jack.

Yes its a First Media Coax Demark box - the conduit will either go all the way out to the roadway terminal (with a coax in it) or there will be a Y installed in the telecom/now chorus conduit near by and the conduit out to the road will be sheared by the chorus copper service lead and the now redundent Spark coax

{I was involved with the QA, on the Telecom side, when Erricson was installing the communial network in East Auckland}

I beleave that Spark (Telecom) still own the hardware and it wasnt transfered over to Chorus during the split - hence the Chorus contract service techs dont do anything with the street furniture (Cabinets. Pods & Pits) when they are damaged etc and they are just left in a sad state out on the road reserve
