My driveway one is monitored using motion, its a great bit of software for monitoring. I also use motion for the snapshots from the webcam on my roof. Its a cheap webcam from Jaycar thats designed for inside however I have had it outside for months now without a single issue.

Its a one wire unit so I can add more sensors to the weather station.

Pi 2 in the bedroom hooked iP to the TV and running kodi/osmc.
Works well and hdmi-cec means the TV remote works the pi.
Doesn't have enough oomph to decode x254/HEVC files though.

Older pi (1) was running dnsmasq as my local dns cacher. Would love to know how to set up something to let it handle all my dns traffic and route all dns requests to the dns4me dns servers.

Got my pi as a birthday present from my boss haha, now powering a full size arcade machine, running Pi Play.

Converted a broken steering wheel arcade machine to new 2 player joystick/button controls, ripped all the wiring out and converted from 120vac to 12v/5v powered by a computer PSU, replaced lighting with LED, replaced screen with 21" 4:3 monitor, replaced amp with a car stereo, replaced coin mech with a working one, added wheels, replaced fan with a PC fan, made wiring internally veery tidy.

Now working on getting coin inputs to the rpi GPIO working and if I can get a clock signal to the old school red coin counter LED display to show how many coins have been inserted.

Next project I'm thinking either an arduino or rpi controlled home beer brew kit with a web interface.

At work, 3 x RPI B+ hooked up to projectors to drive our network/security ops center screens.

At home:

1 x RPI B+ and Pi Sprinkler board controlling our irrigation system.
2 x RPI 2 running Kodi (one uses the official 7" touchscreen display)
2 x RPI B with u-Blox GPS modules running RTKLIB as real-time kinematic GPS base station and rover
1 x RPI B with camera module for experimenting with - have used it to control a Pelco 280-24P/PP PTZ unit with the goal of tracking amateur radio satellites and HABs.

Also my Pi 802.3af PoE board (PiSupply kickstarter project) just arrived at work while I was away last week so looking to put that to use at home too.

1. Running OSMC connected to TV

2. Running OpenHab for home automation

3. Hooked up to electric meter sending readings to OpenHab, SQL database, and Xively

4. Hooked up to a 433Mhz transmitter to switch ON/OFF my appliances (driven by OpenHab)

5. Lying around doing nothing - may hook it up to a camera later for surveillance or to a weather station

Hmmmm I might have to get my still out of storage. One of the issues I had was water flow management through the cooling tower, but that could be fixed with my (currently idle) Pi controlling the flow and monitoring the temperature!

For those using it for controlling security camera/webcams and recording images can you link to the software/hardware you're using and how you set things up? Seems a great application for the Pi and I have a B+ just sitting around waiting for me to repurpose it!
