https://www.romanblindsdirect.co.nz/ has been great for us. Cheaper than places like Curtain Studio, but still not cheap exactly, more premium. We got four sunshade blinds and four electric roman blinds, really nice fabric and good quality, great service and support, cost about $6K from memory.

Usually I’m all for ordering stuff online, but after having a decent enough experience doing so the first time around, the next time looking to use the same company (it appears the same company runs a number of the online blinds sites in NZ) was a bit of a mess.

So, contrary to the title, we’ve recently elected to have two sets of sunshade blinds made by a firm that does measure and quote, with the second set going in just yesterday. This offered a few key benefits, I thought, in that there’s the assurance the blinds will fit (as any stuff-ups they’ll need to own) plus the firm does the installation. We just waited for sales at the local Harvey’s Furnishings, and found the prices totally reasonable ($650 for four blinds covering a large set of windows), whereas I had expected the prices to not be at all competitive.
