a quick google doesnt rate the TCL heatpumps highly.  lots and lots of bad reviews.  but take with a grain of salt, no one ever really reviews something unless something goes wrong.

(also affirming your "grain of salt" comment WRT reviews).

 

From a quick google, I can't see the point in even considering that brand of heatpump.  For only about 15% more (installed price), there seem to be name branded heatpumps with better specs available.

 

The heatpump itself might be relatively inexpensive compared to the name brand, but as about 1/3 of the total cost will be for the install, it's just not worth it (IMO).

It's weird. Our sparky took one look at our Mitsubishi heat pump and said it's too small for the room (can't recall the power rating offhand but the room is large). But the damn thing has the room warm in minutes.
