Have you thought about a sound proofing surround, with an open top and possibly an opening at the bottom on a suitable direction,
To reflect the noise upwards, Not sure if your multi story.
Suggest some 75mm coolstore panel, Obviously, airflow for the heat pump needs to be maintained
With those systems you effectively have the noise of the inside and outside units together as well, so there will be a slight noise increase from that alone.

Hi 'K'
Payback will be way quicker than 10 years for us! 10 years would be the payback on solar as high users we should see a payback well within the warranty period.
It is new technology so time will tell how this all pans out savings wise. My initial thought are winter and summer will end up balancing out the savings over what was out 20 year old cylinder. Solar was way out of out price range and payback for a home we will move from would not make it worth the effort.
I have worked around heat pumps for years and in terms of reliability they are normally good with some I have seen running way past their sell by date! of course crap happens sp like anything lets see how we go. I can't base a decision on a 'what might happen'.
So far it seems to work ok but I still dont like the design and think it needs improving for colder climates such as Dunedin. Their claim of 'abundant hot water' I am yet to be convinced of by a long way.
I have even considered fitting a holding cylinder for the unit that we would draw off the hot water from while the heat pump got the next lot ready so that the water we have just heated up stays like it rather than getting ruined by the rush of cold into the cylinder setting off the temp sensor and forcing the unit on for hours!
Hi there , I too have just installed an Aquarian 170L Heatpump hybrid model but it is indoor model, I have had many many trouble shooting issues too, my main issue being it is not saving me money on power, Has anyone else had issues with this?
And have you resolved your issues? with your outside model, and are you saving money on your power as promised?
Im feeling very mislead indeed.
And would have liked to have promoted these to other people that struggle with the day to day costs of living.
Am interested to hear your feedback
Does anyone have the full programming details for an Aquarian 250L. The user manual shows all the default settings that can be changed and I wanted to change the differential as I am using Solar Electric to run the HP. I find that this HWHP stays hot, above 55 degrees, all day after 2 showers in the morning so it doesn't go low enough to switch on to use the Solar. Does anyone know the password to get in to the system?
Try here for a manual.
