...I think i can find them but work is hectic this week so i haven't been able to work on my sales pitch......

Fully understand...been that way too a bit. The tasmoto side is interesting, but as a newbie in this space will most likely run standard as firmware upgrade looks more challenging for the Shelly2. The factory firmware seems to work well with HA from what I have seen.

Will see if I can drum up some more interest too and am still keen when you are ready.

Sweet that's good to know. Apologies again for the delays. I think it wouldn't be hard to flash the Shelly 2 you just need to hold the 4 pins for 30s to do the flash then let go. I flashed the sonoffs that way too. I will probably see how i go with the factory firmware and api though.

Do these wire in similarly to z-wave units so you can still use the manual wall switch as well as home automation control?

If so, I wonder why it would be worth paying more than double for z-wave?

I'm guessing these devices are also not certified for use within NZ? Although they do seem a bit safer than the Sonoff.

Does anyone know what Certifications the Shelly would need to get in order to be certified in NZ?

Tossing up between buying a bunch of these or the much more expensive but certified for NZ Aeotec Nano Switch

They are not certified, there is zero chance they will get certified here as they are a new company and expanding into europe / usa then it will be Asia then it will be Aus/NZ.

How hard is it to get something certified (assuming it is up to scratch as it is)?

There are some other threads about it on the forum if you search. I think another smart home company said they need to sell 1000 units or 10,000 units (i forget which) to make it worthwhile.

Ouch. I see it has has been certified under some European standards... too bad they can't be "cross-credited" here.

Yea. I'd say it should be very very safe if installed by an electrician, however an electrician is not supposed to install non certified gear.

So the shelly2s arrived today

I've put tasmota firmware on 2 of the relays. it went well. took a lot of goes to get it working. its development version of firmware. it is possible to update OTA to newer versions in the future.

ill send them out to you tmrw.

i got tasmota on 2 relays and bircked one i think.

was going to offer to flash for you but because I bricked one I don't want to take on that risk. :)

Cheers - let the fun begin. Did you have a go with the native firmware before flashing tasmoto?
