We are having issues with cooling, but not related to Airtouch4. I think the solar gain in our new house was underestimated.

As far as AirTouch goes, it doesn’t integrate nicely if you also have a heat recovery fresh air system.

If you are looking at simply a ducted heat pump with no HRV, and you can get appropriate heating/cooling by manually adjusting dampers then AirTouch will work well for you I think. With temperature sensors in each zone it will automate what you are current doing manually.

Although, one other issue I’m having is that I’m not sure how accurate the temperature sensors are. Give it take a degree or two they are ok though.

Are you sure this isn't potentially related to the hysteresis settings of the system? I'm sometimes surprised at how wide the range some systems seem to be set to operate within  (some of the heatpumps at my work are like this), which leads to a sense the sensors are not working properly.

I googled “hysteresis” and I’m still not entirely sure what it means.

This is what I'm referring to:

A thermostat doesn't try to maintain a constant temperature. In order to do so - it would have to keep switching on and off every few seconds. Instead - it keeps the temperature within a specific range. When the preset temperature has been reached - it switches off. And it only switches on again - when there has been a significant change in temperature.
The difference between the temperature at which the thermostat switches off - and the temperature at which it switches on again - is the hysteresis. Without this hysteresis - your central heating, refrigerator etc. would keep switching on and off every few seconds

HVAC temperature deadbands are usually 2K. That can be 1K either side of setpoint or can be biased so you heat/cool 2K past setpoint.

People don't detect a change in temperature when you keep the temperature within 2K of setpoint.
