Couple of things, for reference, I work for a council who installs these Acuflo tobies and Sensus meters

- The Sensus meter can either be a dumb meter (read manually) or a meter with a radio (generally read via drive by receiver), At first glance, yours looks like a dumb meter, but if you snap a photo of the inside of the meter lid (white lid, lift it up), I can tell.

- Don't screw the lid down, not a great idea, more for your own benefit as if you have an issue, you want quick access

- It is actually not that common for the tobies to be messed with by thieves...

Thanks for the advice.

My questions were prompted by the Stuff article in my first posting.

I don't want to post a photo of the inside face of the meter on this forum.

The meter is a 640MC.... Using my phone near the meter I have detected Bluetooth and the MAC address.

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.

Tamper switch on the cover or valve position sensor (never going to happen) is probably your only option for something you do not own.

I didn't even think a lockable power meter was allowed (other thread similar topic about securing utilities) because it's a safety issue not being able to readily turn off the power.

People have power meters in their houses where the house is locked. When we had a site one installed, they did put a lock on it, but others I have seen don't. So I am not sure if it is permitted incase someone needs to turn it off urgently. I am guessing there is a reason why councils don't put them on water meter hatches, even some form of security screw.
