We left the 3-in-1 unit in place but added a dedicated fan over the shower and 2 LEDs. On cold mornings we also turn the 3-in-1 unit on (which turns the heat lamps and extra fan on). 2 fans during the cold mornings really help eliminate moisture too. Works well.

A couple of years ago I replaced the (actually broken) fan from an old bathroom heat/light/fan combo unit with one of these:

Weiss Intelli-Flow Automatic Extraction System - ER08P

https://www.weiss.co.nz/extraction/er08p-intelli-flow-extraction-system

Nice one. Are you able to tell us more about the install for this, please. Do you need a sparky to install this?
Does it go inside the ceiling cavity?

I need to fit something into my bathroom (there's curretly no extraction and the wall cry as soon as our kids hop into the shower) but not sur where to start

That Weiss one comes with ducting, so it will be in the ceiling. There's also this type of thing. You basically need a motor / fan, ducting, an interior diffuser, and an exterior vent.
