I think I've decided to get the MM400 Klein. They are highly rated and seem to cover everything I need and more.
For $50 USD impossible to beat the combination of quality price and features. Annoyingly, it's $150-$200 here.

Thanks. It was $10 more expensive than getting when we are in the US, but worth that to not have to drag it round with us, no matter how small it is.
Thanks for everyones recommendations, MM400 Klein is what I ordered. Hope it's awesome.
lets hope its not shocking

I made a mistake with 240v once when I was building my headphone amplifier. If not for our RCD, I'm pretty sure I'd be dead now.
If it involves 240v these days, I am definitely involving a sparky. It's just not worth the risk.
I got this:
Seems good, good range of features.
How long it will last remains to be seen...
Jase2985:just get something thats CAT III rated for 600V and you should be good
And don't be tempted to pay extra for one labelled as "true RMS". If you can't explain what it is you're really being sold here, you don't need it.
mdooher:I got a Fluke from AliExpress. It is the real deal
This is one of those word combinations where you know there's something wrong but you can't quite put your finger on it.
Rust:I have the Klein MM2300A, which is very similar to the MM400 that you linked to above. I find the Klein brand to be excellent products. Measures Voltage, Amperage, current, frequency, resistance, diodes .. all the necessary stuff. The MM2300A is auto-ranging, I would assume the MM400 is also.
Klein do decent stuff, meaning they're careful about what products they put their brand to. Uni-T, which came up in another thread, are also pretty decent once you get past their budget stuff, just be careful about the confusing sub-models for each type. Owon are also decent.
Avoid any no-name Chinese brands which have cut every corner possible. If you don't know why, watch YouTube videos where people set them on fire by running nowhere near their claimed current or voltage limits through them, or expose their dodgy circuitry in teardowns.
