ok, thank you for your opinion about the $80 per hour is fine, but 8 hours for the job? i know is not a 2 hours job, maybe 4 hours? 8 hours feel excessive....maybe I wrong....

You'd be very brave quoting for a job and not allowing for it to take a day. Even if there's no problem and you finished early would there be time to do anything else that day?

A few years ago we did a South Island trip with a retired plumber. Many of the places we stayed at had Felton mixers. The type with the on/off lever at the showerhead. That type of mixer has an adjustable valve for hot and cold behind the faceplate. In almost every case the mixer was set up wrong.

i got those felton, they have been adjusted but made no much difference at all, hence the recommendation to change to main pressure.

sounds good to have the sound working

Mitre10 sells hot water cylinders. Remember if you can get a cheaper price somewhere else that you can then get 15% off from Mitre10.

One simple thing to try first is fill a short small plastic cup with white vinegar and dip the shower head into it and glad wrap it onto the shower head and leave for half a day. The limescale blocking the holes should dissolve then poke the holes with a bent paperclip. It should make some difference.

You can also use a small plastic sandwich bag with vinegar and tie it on. Cup worked better.

I have a low pressure water system and it's reasonably in good condition. I just asked my plumber to change all my showers including valves and taps during renovations to all pressures. I use Methven  fast flow. They're all working well.
