We also have an F&P 5 zone that works really well. No issues in the 4 years we've had it.

Lowest I've found is $1,993, which I think is a decent price? We weren't sure how useful the multi-zone would be, but I guess it can't hurt to have it just in case.

Series 8 or Series 6?

That's the current going price for the Series 6 with frame at Heathcotes and Lim Electronics (where we got our Series 6 recently). The version without the frame is $1,599. (PIE631FB1E).

We've now got a Bosch dryer, dishwasher and cooktop... F&P has well and truely lost our business after ongoing problems with multiple dishwashers.

There’s only one thing good about cooktops and that’s the wok burner.

True that.

I can vouch for the FnP mentioned earlier, have the same one, no issues ($2.6 k), but stiry fry is not the same as the crusty old gas burner :-(

Luckily I have a 65k BTU gas burner outside for wok cooking. I'll probably be getting a Bosch from Lim electronics, just need to decide on whether or not multizone is useful (should I also buy a teppanyaki pan? 🤫)

Walked around an appliance store a while back and saw that you can get induction cooktops with gas burners built in. That’d be the ultimate surely.

Biggest one for us is a decent UI. You want individual controls for each element, rather than a "select-element-2, then-select-power-8" system. A timer per element is also very handy - induction reacts so fast to power changes that if you want something to stop heating in five minutes, it will stop heating in five minutes.

Make sure they have good cooling. We had one misbehaving for a while, and realised the oven had an extract fan that had stalled and was dumping heat into the underside of it. Fixed that and it works perfectly again.

We've had a mid-range Bosch induction cooktop for about 4 years. Can thoroughly recommend; read the manual to find some interesting hacks (eg our top can give a rating on how induction-friendly a pot is, how much power is being used, etc etc)

We installed a Bosch induction cooktop about a year ago now (along with a new dishwasher and a 1.5 pyro oven), and we have been very happy indeed with all of the units -- very impressed with Bosch.
