LightbulbNeil:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and hints on how to use it. It does work well now that I have learnt how to adjust etc.

Yeah I have plugged in Auckland.

Then adjusted the daily average kWh to match the amount that we use/Buy from the grid. So our actual buy from the grid is alot lower than I thought with the solar.

Then adjusted the amount that we are likely to be exporting in a year and the final numbers look very close.

So my poor understanding is all it was. If you could add the Meridian (2 year minimum 5 year solar plan), with the low user rate, and the standard user rate, would be nice to see how it compares to the other companies at the moment.

I am assuming that the solar buy back rate does vary, and is a net price instead of a price with gst.

It looks to me, that Flick, would be the best option with current pricing for our actual usage and current export amounts.

Thanks for you help.

Neil

Cool, happy to hear it works. So for the Auckland, I have Meridian 2 year plan only (because it's easy to get it from their website). The Solar plan is unfortunately quotable - so you need to go to their website and ask for the quote. (at least this is what I had to do for my solar and I used that pricing for the Far North region) - I ASSUME the quote will be the same within the region but really don't know for sure...

If you would do a quote for yourself (your hamilton address) and send it to me, I'm gonna push myself and will add the Hamilton pricing for all the providers for that region :)

BTW I'm on solar too (5kw array) and what works best for me is to just check my "generation / consumption" on my inverter and chuck these two numbers into the form on website. (instead of checking the data in the provider and finding out how much did I sell, bought and used myself). The calculations were actually surprisingly accurate for my use case...

Can you add Z Energy?

Also, rates are going up and it would be helpful to have a 'custom' provider where you can enter your current rates so you can compare the options.

Thanks for this.

Also, if you could allow a user to enter a custom power profile (rather than uploading a complete record from the power supplier) that would be appreciated.

Thanks for your good work.
