As someone who owns a large amount of Makita LXT gear, I don't see the point in this case. The DIY brands are gonna do the job fine.

I’ve been though so many cheap crap drills doing Reno’s , I should have just spent more money up front on something decent which I have now done

You pay for what you get, highly recommend a kit like this . Covers most use cases

https://www.thetoolshed.co.nz/product/47384-makita-lxt-cordless-sub-compact-hammer-drill-impact-driver-brushless-18v-tool?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17182567162&gbraid=0AAAAADLICtLDRfT8OlSX-oFxo21vpEK-s&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzfDB_ZPKjgMVZRWDAx2Ryhj7EAQYAiABEgIIn_D_BwE

$615 incl GST and you only get 1.5 ah batteries. When they say "Professional" they mean you need a business to write the cost off to.

I have a neighbour with a van full of Makita that's running out of decent batteries. He was moaning that Makita have plenty of free battery offers with new tools but the batteries on their own are very expensive.

Yes, your use case means buy a good drill. This very much sounds like a one off and then the drill will sit in the cupboard gathering dust.
