I'd spring for the new housing.

 

If an ultrasonic welded seam has failed, you're not going to be able to get a durable repair with rtv etc

I'm kind of thinking that way after checking the price of a new housing. I don't need to pull it apart for the third time if the repair doesn't work, all for $176 to buy a new housing.
