Seriously, stay away from AliExpress for anything that involves Mains Electricity, if it burns your house down you will have no insurance

I have had to rewire a number of Chinese imports that were bought into work by someone.

One had Green cable for the phase and neutral and earth on the inlet socket, the (phase) green changed to a red, then to green again in the wiring loom.

Wire sizes were too small

connections garbage, one had the screw thread stripped so no real pressure on the termination.

There is less than zero chance I would have Aliexpress/Temu/etc electrical junk in my house.

Same goes for the PDL 600 Series knock off sold at bunnings under a brand called "DETA"

If it's not PDL or HPM it doesn't go in my home, and yes, I am prepared to pay the premium for it

They are actually the good ones. Not like the ones that come from the bottom tier importers of electrical.

Still its nice to be able to still get replacement cover plates and matching things which the cheapies from bunnings will not have in a few years time. Also minimal selection ov vertical and horizontals and colours available. Whats on the shelf is all they have so good luck if you want a matching horizontal black outlet.

Pretty sure it one that I got from JA Russell... but this page has the sort of thing

https://rackpower.co.nz/product-category/power-strips/

Yes, those are what I want - except for the price.  The lab I used to work in had these everywhere but for my little home cabinet, it is a bit much.

I think I will buy a couple of 6 or 8 outlet strips from Mitre10,  screw them to a strip of wood and mount it vertically at the back .

Being out-of-sight ensures a high WAF score.

Those universal sockets can't safely deliver much current.

I've lived overseas where these were popular, and they can arc up and/or melt when you start drawing any serious current through them. OK-ish for a desk lamp, garbage for a heater.

They typically make contact on the corners of pins, not the flats, so the contact area is small. This is also part of the reason they don't grip the plugs well.

Sometimes they just stop working because the contacts were only just barely making contact to begin with and now they're been stretched out. Next thing, someone is trying to bend the contacts back using a metal object. Just bad!

I bet Big Clive has reviewed these at some point.
