i screwed up there, sorry for the heart attack !

you need 38m3/h or 38000l/h or 10.5l/s.

add in the hallway, about 25l/s, so putting it on low speed would be about right...........i need more coffeeee.

Hahaha no problem! Easy mistake. Thank you.

Although most of the time I'm cooling 1 or 2 rooms, sometimes 3. And then because of airtouch, 2 of rooms of the dampers commonly close. Thus in these cases, even just the low speed might be too much? Hence I feel like adjustable dampers don't really work with lossnay well.

I guess if all set point temps have been reached, I could maybe run fan mode.

i don't know anything of the airtouch side of it, i let others deal with that.

however the dampers should not be fully closed, they need be open a tiny amount for ventilation air (the erv runs whenever the heatpump is on regardless if its actively cooling). that will cause some extra cooling in some rooms, especially if someone wants one room way different temp to the rest. it would be interested to see how the room temps are with dampers locked open, see how far out some rooms get.

remember static pressure is simply change the heatpump fan speed. more airflow = more noise and more air leakage.

if i read the manual right, the lossnay bypass damper should not be opening at all as it requires quite cold outdoor temps (unless settings are changed). honestly i don't see the point of it with Auckland temps and humidity.

Hey thanks for the follow up!

Nothing yet...I've been waiting for my installer to get back to me on whether they found the Lossnay controller or not, and if they could install the original Mitsubishi controller. Never got back to me, so looks like I need to go second hand....

Found a second hand lossnay controller on Facebook market place, but she's asking for $250, which is rediculous. But maybe I can offer lower.

Found a second hand Mitsubishi heatpump controller for $100, so might get that, as then I can adjust static pressure.

well that sucks :(

i see there is a wifi controller for the erv. why not look at the cost of that and see if the app can do the settings.

I do need to look into that. A company wants to charge $400 for installing the wifi controller...and supposedly it can't control as many settings as the Lossnay controller can, such as fan speeds and bypass damper, but I need to verify that.

Playing with their online demo, looks like the wifi controller does everything I need.

It looks to be way cheaper overseas of course....https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/product/mitsubishi-wifi-interface-controller-mac-588if-e/

make sure it can set all the install settings so you can actually commission the thing.

would not be a bad idea to give mitsi a call to check πŸ˜‰

What do you mean by that sorry? Make sure that it's possible to install it? Or just that it covers all the settings I need?

Yea true, I can give them a call! Black Diamond Technologies I assume?

commission = set it up properly so its running correctly (its only running on the defaults at the moment). make sure it covers ALL the settings the standard controller has. in case the app is dumbed down for user only usage.

downside is your stuck with the app which might not work in 10+ years. i much prefer the controller.

Yea that's why I prefer the controller also. Doesn't rely on their stupid cloud.
I assume it isn't too hard to extend the controller wire to install it where the airtouch controller is (although that would be a lot of controllers if the heatpump one is there too haha) or at least at the entrance of the attic.

no idea what cable they use, but i doubt it will be a problem. yeah not uncommon to have quite a few controllers and sensors (humidity, temp, pm2.5 etc) on the wall.

To be fair, maybe I want the wifi controller anyway, because it would be nice to be able to automate some features of the fresh air system. Like being able to use boost mode when painting or something. Hmmmm.

I'll contact Mitsubishi.

I got the wired PAR-40 heatpump controller installed by myself! Used a multi-meter to be safe. Surprisingly very easy.

Now I'm a little confused on the static pressure settings. Haven't tried actually changing yet it, but had a little browse in the controller.

So I assume this "Group" option is for selecting different indoor units. But since I only have one, easiest to just select "All" I imagine?

I can see in the manual that it states to Set both Mode 8 and 10 to select different static pressure settings. Cool.

But in the controller manual, it states that mode 10 is for high efficiency filter. But I assume what this just means is that you're supposed to use static pressure settings above 50pa when you have a high efficiency filter. So I imagine it's just a guide.

I will try 70 or 100pa.

Well the system is performing much better on 100pa. My Dad, who works in commercial ducting installs, couldn't believe how the ducts bend too soon out of the unit. He thinks that would kill airflow considerably. Might be why I need high static pressure.

Now since turning the Lossnay back on, I notice when I only use fan-mode, I can smell insulation. Would this be a big red flag? Going to turn the lossnay off for now. Maybe there's a leak somewhere....
