Bung: Unless I knew why the lock jammed I wouldn't trust that mechanism. You might lock it from the inside and find yourself locked in. A basic toolkit is cheap, leave butter knives in the kitchen.


^this. replace the unit. cheap and easy to do yourself with a couple of basic tools (screwdriver ftw)

Just a tip.

We have several of these types of locks in our house. I find the flat edge of the head of a key works better than a butter knife. Our garage key is a small key with two flat sides on the head, works flawlessly to open these doors.
