Hi guys,

This morning out of nowere I have managed to lock myself from bathroom.

Seems like I should have twisted it fully, and because I didnt , It just stayed locked and now its locked , and i cant enter it.

Lock is here [ https://postimg.org/image/eguekttlx/ ]

Can someone pls give ideas how to solve this.

I tried inserting a butter knife on the slot and turning it, but nothing seemed to happen.

Or if anyone has the right tool in Auckland, I can borrow from you and return within an hour .

Please help

Thanks,

Flat blade screwdriver and turn.  It's only a privacy lock.  If that doesn't work then the internals are busted and the handle should be replaced.

You should be able to dismantle the whole mess by turning the base part of the handle to unscrew this side of the handle if the mechanism is stuffed.

,

Did it turn ?

As scuwp mentioned, it's only a privacy lock, and the slot should rotate the lock mech on the other side. You may need to twist harder. Or use a largish coin and pliers to really give it a bit of grunt. It's gonna need busting anyway if a butter knife or screwdriver is insufficient to turn it..

You may be able to spin the skirt off ( counterclockwise), though there maybe a small lock pin in the base of the skirt that needs to be pushed in to enable the skirt to turn. If you can get the skirt off, you should be able to access the lock mech a bit better, and use a screw driver to force open the lock. Or a bit pair of pliers. Or a hammer and screwdriver,,and force the lock mech around. Nothing is impossible with a big hammer, and even bigger screwdriver laughing

The strike-plate is on your side of the door, so slide a card in there to keep the tongue of the lock out of the socket. You should then be able to pull the door open

It's a burglar. Shoot first. Answer questions in court later.

If that photo is your door then you don't need to do anything to the lock to open it- as I said before slide a card like an eftpos card between the door and the jam, along the strike-plate. That will push the tongue of the lock/handle assembly out of the way so you can just pull the door open

Yeah, screwdriver or end of a butter knife will open it.

A knife would be easier as you have to come from the far side of the latch bolt - a card probably wont fit between the stopping frame and bolt.

Your bigger problem seems to be that your house has tilted to the left.  Everything in your medicine cabinet will have fallen over :-)
