ashtonaut:

When my security system 'goes off' (i.e. the internal and external siren), does anyone know if the iOS Homekit / Home app notification is just a standard push notification, or is it (or can it be) more prominent?

For example, even if my phone is on silent or DND mode, I would like a 'house alarm triggered' notification to come through regardless, with sound.

I'm a bit hesitant to test as I'll need to set my alarm off several times to figure it out...

If the answer is no then I'll probably use Pushover to send a duplicate notification with higher priority.

To answer my own question here, I can confirm that if the alarm goes off, the iOS Home app push notification is sent through Apple's push service as a high priority, so an audible alarm sounds on your phone even if your phone is set to silent or DnD mode. This is as I expected, but useful to confirm nonetheless.

Thanks for the update and clarification.   I also have the SMS notifications from the GSM unit and I add the phone number to my VIP list

As someone who is technically minded, but very limited in coding, I am struggling with the Paradox Homebridge integration. Is there anyone on this forum who would be willing to help out a noob such as myself and guide me through the process of getting it set up? I have the following:

  • MG5050 panel
  • IP150+ internet module
  • M1 Mac Mini running Homebridge

If anyone is willing to help me out, I'd be super appreciative. This is just all super frustrating and I've given up after a month of tinkering. Can never figure it out.

Make a new thread, I'm also happy to help.  I've had paradox via PAI to homebridge working for years.

I've gone ahead and created a new thread, here. Keeping this in Geekzone for others to find would be fantastic. Look forward to seeing your insight over there! Thanks in advance.

Probably breaching a rule posting this here but it is related to the topic...

If anyone needs an IP Module, I have an older IP100 module which I was using successfully with PAI / Home Assistant and connecting to a Paradox SP4000 for several years.

Also have a Paradox K32+ Keypad

I was using these in a portable office but no longer needed, so they are sitting here gathering dust.

If anyone needs either for automating their alarm DM me and make an offer.
