But in all seriousness, You clearly want this guy gone as the owner, so just let him sell the house,

Yes it will grind your gears, but causing a sale to fall through will just mean that he's your neighbour even longer....

So much this. Honestly, lifes too short to worry about W*nkers. He'll be gone soon enough and as far as I am concerned, I'd be going the other way, serve cookies and coffee at his open homes to intice a higher calibre of new owner and get started on the right foot.

If you are a jackhole, the new owner will already be on edge before you even get started. You don't want that.

I know, I know. But man I feel 10x better after reading everyone's horrible reaponses

I'll tell you what one of our neighbours does...

Backyard fires with some wet wood and maybe some plastic garbage.

Some really deep bass music .... it doesn't have to be loud because the bass noise travels through walls due to it's low frequency sound waves.

6 caravans on your section for rent... admittedly the logistics are tricky... but seriously, our neighbour is running a mini-camping ground and doesn't even need consent ( you only need enough toilets).   He likes young brazilian girls so he explicitly advertises for brazilian females for the caravans. I don't know what his wife thinks, but she is bat crazy too (and apparently a witch, that is a thing).

With the 6 caravans filled with brazilians, they like to party.  The love to roast marshmallows over open fires too. Young brazilians are the most awful neighbours, what is it with music every day of the week? Probably they are like young kiwis doing their OE in london.

There has been a rape reported on his section, police have been there often. The caravan 'tenants' park their cars on the neighbours driveways. We had a new neigbour once, day after moving in, the bad neighbour poked a sign through his fence saying "don't let your f***n cat s***t on our property.   The new neighbour doesn't even have a cat, and anyway, how do you even incarcerate a cat to your own backyard?

Admittedly, the music has stopped now, probably due to noise abatement notices.

Fortunately this is the back neighbour we don't share road frontage. Their property is probably worth millions but the owner is shabby individual.

This sounds truly next level terrible. And a little creepy.

In the vein of therapeutic venting rather than anything actually actionable, 27B/6 seems to have made a career out of annoying neighbours, other local residents, coworkers and landlords and writing it up in a humorous fashion.

Omfg I am in tears.
I wish I had 10% of this guys creativity.

I also have tears coming out of my eyes and my staff are looking decidedly alarmed at my heaves of laughter and that's only the first one.

I was thinking of forwarding to them but I can't see my keyboard through my blurred eyes and I am worried about how it will affect productivity or what kind of attention I would get from ACC if I was to send this to them and they fell off their chairs laughing. I am fortunate that my own fall was only from a small height onto carpet, but they have architects chairs and are on a much harder surface.

So you were breaching your requirements to obtain consents, you now suspect it was your neighbour reporting you and you would like to punish them? Wow.

I'm not sure if that's what he did, but maybe he did say that? i was struggling to understand what actually happened.

Use weed killer to paint a large pentagram on the front lawn. Butcher a goat in the middle of it during the next open home.

In a previous property I've had similar, and that's why the half kidding.

Honestly It makes my blood boil when I think about how much time and money this gentleman has cost me - especially when I got to do everything as originally planned - no modifications at all.

So a little bit of frustration on his part would soothe the angry soul.

Can you elaborate? So that we can post appropriate actions, based on how and why he cost you.

Im considering widening my circle of friends, most of you here failed!  :-)

With friends like that who needs enemies.

Funny though. Personally I'd be aiding the sale

Not even close.

With his permission I wouldn't have needed resource consent. It would have cost me about 1k in paperwork. Without it I had to go through the full consent process which cost about 12k.

I knew this, and even offered him 4k to sign the form the first time he refused.

I got consent on the plans I showed him, with no changes. Because he was obstinate I had to pay an extra 11k and wait for an extra 2 months.

I do like some good home kill, and am partial to a good goat curry.
