I know all about iTools and other sites, I still don’t think they compare.
NZD $899 for a drill & impact driver,
equivalent in HDepot USD $179.
The issue here is apart from the weight , it’s getting the batteries back. US post won’t accept them.

Putting in a good word for Ozito, they're actually not that bad, they're rebranded gear from the German manufacturer Einhell, one of the pioneers of the "designed in Gemany, manufacture in China" model. If you look at a lot of the tools from better-known companies like Bosch, they've also now switched to this model. The trick is to identify the Einhell original, look up reviews on it, and then buy based on that.

You've also got Bunnings' pretty-much no-questions-asked returns policy, if something does go wrong they're really good with exchanging things, I've done exchanges on gift items for which I had no receipt and they took it without any problems (planting broom in a garden that borders a reserve is definitely a no-no, no matter how nice the photos of the flowers on it look).

Honestly, unless you're doing a lot of stuff, the Ozito's are fine. I've got the Brushless Impact & Drill set, no issues at all. Unless you're using this thing daily to earn your bread and butter, you shouldn't have issues, and if you do the Ozito warranty is hard to go past, because Bunnings will just swap it.

That set has a bit of an odd history, it's there for a couple of months, gone for a few months, then back again. I thought it had been discontinued after being absent for quite awhile, but looks like it's back again now. I'd been tempted by it, but have an older original Einhell-branded drill/driver that's still going strong after maybe ten years use, the damn thing just won't die so I have an excuse to get the twin pack.

Ozito Power X which their rebadged Einhell gear. Power X gear is red colour and the standard Ozito is their grey/silver colour. Power X gear is really good specially for the price you pay and it is 5 years replacement warranty. Anything goes wrong, walk into Bunnings with receipt and they will replace the product rather than send it for repair.

Do whatever you want to do man.

+1 for the Ryobi brushless range. I have a brushless Dewalt drill and prefer the Ryobi tool range.

Re: Rip off Kiwi pricing, once you commit to an ecosystem and have a few batteries and a charger, you can look to buy additional tools/"skins" from Amazon or wherever else and save yourself a lot of money

The Ryobi range is very well priced in NZ. I have bought a couple of things re-certified from Amazon and they have been very cheap but generally the new tools are priced the same here in NZ or very close.
